Alex Minshull, Sustainable City Manager, Bristol City Council
Alex Minshull has led the city’s sustainability and climate change programmes for 5 years. He is an environmental scientist with a particular interest in the relationship between buildings, energy use and people. He has worked in the public, private and voluntary sectors in environmental and sustainability roles. Alex is now part of Bristol City Council’s Futures Team which is leading an integrated economic, green and digital development programme to create the connected, smart, green city of the future.
Martin Bigg, Chair, Bristol Green Capital Partnership
Martin Bigg is Professor of Environmental Technology at the University of the West of England. He is also Director of the Environmental iNet where he manages a £2.3 million project in partnership with the Bristol City Council, Universities of Bristol and Exeter and Regen SW, with business and other organisations. They support environmental innovation, economic development and job creation in the South West.
In his previous role as Head of Industry and Waste regulation at the Environment Agency, he oversaw expenditure of £70 million and 500 staff achieve major nationwide improvements to air quality, waste management, industrial development and public engagement.
